The White

Sea

Gusts of wind carried the scent of seaweed.

A flock of seabirds seemed to hover motionless in the air. The churning sea stretched high above the horizon into the falling morning green.

Thraen has two oceans that lie opposite each other on Thraen’s equator:
the White Sea and the Silent Sea.

Both of Thraen’s oceans are named after their prevailing weather conditions.

The White Sea is named for the white caps on its waves. A stiff breeze blows constantly; calm seas are unknown to sailors. There are frequent severe storms, thunderstorms, and even cyclones.

When standing on the shore of one sea, one cannot see the other in the sky because it is obscured by Beeledhan’s Eye. Only at the longitudes of the Wind Pole or the Salthras Pole is it possible to see both seas in the sky at the same time.

The mighty capital of the Reich on the Tarranian Sea, protected by the Tar-Dha Delta and two fortress cities.

These two fortress-cities guard the only passage between the Tarranian Sea and the White Sea.

The city of Ginoél, situated on the lovely shores of Lake Venghetae. Hamises escapes by a hair’s breadth.
